Pretika Menon is a conceptual visual artist based in Mumbai. Dissatisfied with the popular visual content on social media she strives to introduce imagery that has a strong narrative blended with her fine art ‘almost painterly’ approach and attention to detail. Starting in her hometown Madras in 2010, her work has always been experimental and away from pop culture and it’s requirement that women are ‘pretty, delicate and happy flowers’. “There is so much more on the emotional spectrum that we have yet to explore, I wanted to start a dialogue about it. Fashion does not have to objectify either gender, it can be multi-faceted and realistic.”
Pretika worked in Chennai as an independent photographer for 4 years, being extremely selective of the kind of brands she worked with. She moved to Bangalore in 2014 to join Myntra as a senior photographer of marketing. There she understood aspects of commercial fashion photography, working with big productions and teams whose objective was to cater to Myntra’s ever-growing E-commerce marketing requirements. In 2016, Pretika quit Myntra and has been independent ever since.

Priyadarshini Ravichandranis an advertising and fashion photographer based in Chennai. She loves textiles and looking at photographs. As a photographer working in fashion, she likes to explore the ideas of beauty and dive deeper into a human being’s relationship with clothing. She finds it a pleasure to co-create ideas and imagery with designers in fashion and people exploring different mediums. She enjoys working in platforms that integrate environmental and societal aspects into their process.
At the moment she’s attempting to make fashion imagery accessible and as close to real life as she sees it. The fashion industry has a terrific impact on the planet and the people, so she feels responsible for what she chooses to photograph and put out, to been seen and consumed.
