While zine making in itself democratizes the process of making art and becomes a medium for self-publishing, the focus of the workshop will be to create personal narratives using one’s own photographs (they could be shot and developed by you, found photographs, from an archive or even from your own family collection).
The session will introduce participants to the history and technique of making zines, following which one will start working on their individual zines and juxtapose images and text in interesting ways. The idea is to create an intersection of art, photography, and literature. At the end of the workshop, we will make photocopies for each other as well as create a permanent, Zine Library with all the zines that can be found at each of the Biennale venues for others to discover your work.
I'm a cool paragraph that lives inside of an even cooler modal. Wins!
