As Chennai Photo Biennale opens up, Gallery Veda will be hosting an opening of a Photography project on the 22nd of Feb 2019. It’s part of 15 years of Artist Samar Jodha’s work in upper Assam with a Buddhist community which is shrinking due to various reasons.
This conceptual work has been set up in darkness of a coal mine. Samar’ talk at TEDxVienna on “Artist’s role on sustainability and capacity building” has been part of his outreach program for resource raising for the community. His work has also involved in help build a Monastery, eco tourism project, an education program, and revival of local textile with the community.
